What is the difference between a statutory auditor and a board of auditors?
The statutory auditor reviews the accounts and issues an opinion on the financial statements. The board of auditors oversees compliance with law and by-laws, sound management and the adequacy of the company’s organisational structures; in some cases it may also carry out the statutory audit.
