We assist resident and non-resident companies at every stage of their relationship with the Italian tax authorities: from audits to pre-assessment hearings, from negotiated settlements to representation before the tax courts. Our goal is precise: to resolve the dispute in the most efficient way, in or out of court.

02When to call us

  • A tax audit of your company is under way or has been announced.
  • You have received a questionnaire, an invitation to a hearing or a draft assessment.
  • You have been served with a tax assessment or an audit report.
  • You wish to appeal a tax act or a refund denial.

03Our approach

Every tax dispute begins long before the appeal. We step in from the earliest stages, reconstructing facts and documentation and weighing with the client the cost, timing and likely outcome of each route: settlement, hearing or litigation.

05Frequently asked questions

How long do I have to appeal an Italian tax assessment?

As a general rule, the appeal must be served within 60 days of notification. Filing a request for a settlement procedure (accertamento con adesione) suspends the deadline for 90 days. It is advisable to have the assessment reviewed immediately.

Can a chartered accountant represent me before the Italian tax courts?

Yes. Chartered accountants registered with the professional order are qualified to represent taxpayers before the first- and second-instance tax courts.
